When you report a meal, your Guardian looks it up in your personal database and adds it to your daily ledger in seconds. If you report a product your Guardian has not seen before — such as a new brand or a single ingredient like an apple — she will add it to your database automatically, drawing on her own nutritional knowledge or searching the internet to get the numbers right.

Takeaway and restaurant food can also be logged to your daily ledger, but with calorie estimates only, as full nutritional breakdowns are not available for one-off items.
